Deluxe Tune-Up

Recommended for bicycles that are used daily, or have not been serviced in a while, but any bike will benefit from this thorough rejuvenation.

BEFORE BOOKING, PLEASE READ ALL THE INFORMATION BELOW:

You are paying for LABOR at this time. Until we see your bike, we won’t know what components need to be replaced, however, once we have the bike, you will receive a complete quote, including parts, before we proceed with the repair. After you complete your deposit, we will contact you to arrange the time for you to drop off your bike, and receive a complete your repair estimate. After you drop off your bike, we may need on average 3-7 days to complete the repair, based on parts that may be needed and their availability.

This service is designed and priced for standard and folding bikes. For non-standard bikes, the following surcharges may apply:

• $25 for Cargo Bikes, Trikes, Tandems and Some Recumbent bikes

• $60 for Frontloader or other XL Cargo and ALL E-BIKES

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

All of the following steps are included in this service.

• Set-up, adjustment and testing of braking systems. Parts & cables replaced as needed.

• Set-up, adjustment and testing of shifting systems. Parts& cables replaced as needed.

• Headset adjustment.

• Wheel set-up, including adjustment of hubs, tensioning or de-tensioning of spokes, dishing and truing the wheels.

• Bottom bracket adjustment.

• If applicable, the quill stem and brake bosses are greased.

• Full degreasing and re-lubricationof the drivetrain

• If needed, replacement of any external moving part or component (excl. frame or fork), including chains, cassettes, frozen brakes, cranks, chainrings, etc. without additional labor charge. (NOTE: There is a lot of variation here, depending on the needs of each individual bike & rider, and the only way to really nail it down is bring you bike in and discuss the repair with the mechanic.)

• Removal of build-up from the rims to increase rim and brake pad life, and braking power.

• Safety inspection and correct attachment of wheels, components and accessories.

• Application of lubricant to chain, grease to seatpost, and LocTite for small nuts and bolts.

• Full detail cleaning and polishing of all external parts and frame.

• Installation of any optional accessories purchased from us.

The Fine Print

• Please note that the following surcharges may apply:

  • $25 for Cargo Bikes, Trikes, Tandems and Recumbent bikes

  • $60 for Frontloader or othe XL Cargo and E-Bikes

• Please keep in mind that the prices listed are for Labor only. Many bicycles will require replacement parts for safe and proper functioning. You will receive a complete quote for labor, parts and tax for your approval before we proceed with any repair.

• All bicycles, including children's bikes, are vehicles, and require certain components to operate properly to ensure safety. We cannot be responsible for the safety of the components that you do not allow us to service or replace, and may therefore decline to perform any repair that will not result in a safely operating bicycle.

• We charge $7 supply and recycling fee on all our major tune-ups, complete assemblies and custom builds, and some a la carte services. This is to help offset the cost of cardboard recycling, and shop supplies and materials, including cleaners, lubricants, small hardware and shop towels.

• Labor Guarantee*
  All of our labor is guaranteed for at least 30 days, but some specific services carry longer guarantees, as described above. We stand behind our services, and promise to make any needed corrections or adjustments free of charge during the period covered by the guarantee.

  • In rare cases, additional parts may be needed to correct the problem. With the exceptions of inner tubes on warranty flat repairs, additional parts are not included in the guarantee.

  • In order to keep track of your repair history, we keep detailed records of your services under your account. Our Labor Guarantees are non-transferrable, and apply only to the original purchaser.
